The Saanich Parks and Recreation Department would like to showcase your photography talent on the cover of the next Active Living Guide. If you have an image of people enjoying Saanich Parks, Trails, Cedar Hill Golf course or taking part in sports, recreational activities, the arts or exploring our local culture, you are encouraged to submit it. Three selected images will be placed on the Parks and Recreation facebook page and fans will then select the photo that will be featured as the cover image of the upcoming summer guide scheduled for public release in early March. A photo credit acknolwedging the photogrpaher will also be included in the inside front cover page The person submitting the winning picture will also receive a complimentary annual admission valid at any of Saanich’s 4 Recreation Centres.
“Featuring a community photo on the cover of the Active Living Guide is a great way to highlight our parks, events, golf course and programs,” says Doug Henderson, Director of Saanich Parks and Recreation. We believe the opportunity for Saanich residents to send us in their photos holds great potential for the cover of our next guide.”
Images must feature at least one person and a maximum of three people enjoying Saanich’s Parks, Recreation, Cedar Hill Golf Course, Fitness, Programs, Arts or Cultural activities. Images must be high resolution suitable to be enlarged to a 16” x 20” photo size and a minimum of 300 dpi. Photos should clearly represent the summer seasons and what Saanich’s lifestyle is all about. Each photo submission is required to be accompanied by a photo release. Photo releases can be downloaded by clicking here.
Images can be submitted online using the Contest Entry Form or by dropping off a disc at any Saanich recreation facility. To be eligible for the contest any disc that is dropped off is also required to have a photo waiver and the completed entry details found on the contest entry form. There is a maximum of of 3 photo entries per individual permitted for this contest. By entering this contest you acknowledge and represent that you are 18 years of age or you that you have the permission of your parent ot legal guardian who have entered the contest on your behalf.
Conditions of entry: By submitting a photo entry to the ‘Saanich Active Living Guide Cover Photo Competition’, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the original creator of the photo submission;
- The photo meets all of the eligibility requirements set out in these contest rules.
If The District of Saanich Parks and Recreation suspects or believes that any of the above is untrue, Saanich Parks and Recreation may disqualify your entry in its sole discretion.
